Since Daikin acquired Goodman in November of 2012 to become the worlds largest HVAC manufacturer, we've seen little activity within the Goodman organization which has left plenty of speculation as to what this merger entailed. It looks like we are now going to see some of the initial changes. We received an announcement from our local Goodman territory sales manager that a commercial product line was going to be the first released equipment.
It appears that this is not a new product line but a re-branding of existing Goodman equipment. We believe this is the case because existing model numbers remained the same except for the "G" representing Goodman in the nomenclature has been replaced with a "D". We are uncertain at this time as to whether or not there are any substantial changes in the equipment design other than paint color and label.
Production on the new equipment is anticipated to begin in June of 2013. New marketing materials, product specifications and additional information for the Daikin brand commercial products will be available in mid-May 2013.
