As a follow up to our section on air conditioner brands, we'll cover the equipment brands we carry and why we prefer them. Although we have access to just about every major brand, we are partial to certain manufacturers and distributors. When it comes to new HVAC system installation, our primary choice is one of the Goodman brands. This would include either Goodman or Amana equipment. We believe the overall value to the homeowner is the best in the industry. This conclusion is based off the considerations of price, warranty, quality and availability. From the contractor's vantage point, we like doing business with them because of their strong distribution network, superior technical support, ease of doing business and the equipment is not complicated i.e. easy to work on.
In addition to Goodman, we also carry some Trane residential split systems. Trane has a solid reputation for quality and is possibly the most recognized brand in the industry. They have been a leader of innovation with over 15000 patents. One drawback of this premium equipment is that is comes at a premium price.
Another brand of equipment we carry is Rheem. Although much of the equipment out there is nearly identical, Rheem has manufactured a product which sets them apart from their competition. Because of the increase in efficiency standards from 10 to 13 SEER, equipment size (specifically coil surface area) had to increase to meet the new requirements. Unforunately, many new homes had been constructed with barely enough room for the current 10 SEER or less air handler to fit. We run into sizing challenges in tight attics, condos and closets. For applications such as these, we would use Rheem because of their short air handler cabinet.
Although these represent our primary selections, we are happy to quote another brand you are interested in.
